Our (digital) collections do not belong to us. In the end they belong to those who pay, visit and use our collections. To the people of Putten, the Nepalese, our enemies and friends, the kings and paupers. In the ideal world all knowledge and culture is available for everyone. And that’s not communism, populism or groundless idealism. Take a look at Wikipedia. We are just the custodians. And we should be proud of that. How do we position ourselves to that disturbing and joyful given? How do we give our users what they deserve? How do we give them our sincere trust?
